Leveraging University Value and Visibility through Information and Communication Technologies.

The highly dynamic and globalized environment in which we live today, has
posed great challenges and opportunities for individuals and communities in
general. Universities are no exception, and there is a need to learn from
each other in different parts of the orb to be responsive to the demands
of our contemporary world. The advent of Information and Communication
Technologies (ICT) presents a great potential benefit to improve the life of
people and organizations, but also a great change effort.

In order to promote the exchange of ideas, and a better understanding of
opportunities, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) will be
hosting a workshop intended to discuss and understand issues related to
international university rankings, and the potential uses of a comprehensive
ICT strategy. It may be anticipated that attendants will gain great value
from networking with colleagues from other institutions, and interacting
with experts on the subject, including successful university chief
information officers, and ranking systems representatives.

The event will take place at the auditorium of the Institute for Research on
Applied Mathematics and Systems, at the University City Campus in Mexico
City, on April 14, 2011.
